Margaret Haynes - Furniture Selection and Tendering
independent and impartial advice and information
established 20 years
corporate seminars and conference organisation
Since its inception in 1987 OFAS has given independent and impartial advice to specifiers and purchasers of office and contract furniture. Many large organisations have taken advantage of the OFAS consultancy service, which guides companies with a major project through the entire tendering and selection process.
OFAS is unique in assessing every range of furniture available on the U.K. market and monitoring the service given to customers. Vast computerised databases of information and a large library of product brochures back up the expertise of the OFAS staff.
An OFAS consultancy can provide as little or as much help as is required by the client. OFAS is driven by the premise that its customer should retain control of the whole process and not relinquish decisions to a third party, whose knowledge of the culture, work needs and ethics of the organisation is necessarily limited. To this end, it offers advice at all stages, but ultimately proceed according to the client's stated requirements. Aesthetics are immensely important but practicality should always be the primary criterion. Examples abound of beautifully executed office buildings that present immense problems to those charged with the day-to-day maintenance of the facility.
OFAS offers the following service: Assessment of the organisation's current furnishings. (What is good and should be retained and what changes need to be implemented)
Consideration of the culture and working philosophy of the organisation and the desired image to be portrayed.
Act as facilitator at focus meetings of management and staff.
Discuss changes in working practice, which may happen in the medium term, with particular reference to technological advance.
Assist in the preparation of the tender document, utilising the considerable experience gained from past projects to ensure that all necessary criteria of product and service are addressed.
Select suitable companies to be invited to tender.
Throughout these initial stages the confidentiality of the client is closely guarded thus eliminating unnecessary contact from numerous potential suppliers.
Assist in the initial assessment of the returned tenders to reach a shortlist.
Liase with selected short listed companies for the provision of pilot product for final assessment by the client.
When pilot projects are successfully in place, OFAS leaves the client to make a final decision, safe in the knowledge that all contenders will provide suitable product and good service levels.
You are invited to contact Margaret Haynes at OFAS for an initial discussion, without charge or obligation.
