How valuable is your school bag?
|
The quill and ink, the chalk and board, even the traditional pencil, exercise book and apple are being removed from school bags.
Following research commissioned by Tesco; the total value of equipment taken to school totals £664million. With pens, notepads and textbooks being replaced with laptops, iPOD's and other hi tech gadgets it is a concern for parents and children. It doesn't seem to just stop at gadgets either - high fashion sports shoes are another contributing factor. It is estimated that around 42 per cent of children take mobile phones to school, 11 per cent are carrying iPOD's and 5 per cent are carrying some form of game console. A scottish student school bag contains around £162.17 worth of equipment, whilst students in England have an average of £158.27 with students in Wales are carrying anything up to £186.94. Are you covered for loss or theft of your items? Parents are you concerned how valuable items are in your childs school bag? Please send us your comments. Should a child's school bag be seperately insured? |
