This short introductory course is designed to provide students with some basic practical experience in theatrical combat, culminating in a short performance.
You won’t leave being able to single-handedly defeat the hordes of Sauron, but you will have a good foundation from which to build and draw on, as well as learn a fun new skill.
Please come dressed in comfortable clothing and trainers. No previous experience necessary. You will need a consent form signed by a parent/guardian if under 18.

Canal festival
Bloom Park on Middlegreen Road is the place to be on Saturday September 9 and Sunday September 10 as the canal festival weighs anchor from 11am to 5pm.
The festival, organised by Slough Borough Council, is a two-day event packed full of activities for all the family. There are trips up and down the canal on the Pirate Viscount and Tarporley boats, information from British Waterways and Inland Waterways, and a marquee full of arts and crafts and charity stalls.
And for the children there will be a whole marquee with workshops including circus skills and glass painting, giant games and indoor golf, as well as Punch and Judy shows and balloon modelling.
In the main arena the vultures and eagles will be taking to the sky on Sunday and for the first time Bob Hogg and his sheepdogs will be performing on Saturday.
A jazz band, music and dancers will be playing around the site and for those who get peckish there are doughnuts to be nibbled on and ice creams to be licked.
Entrance to the festival is free and doors are open from 11am to 5pm on both days. For more information contact the events team on 01753 875571 or e-mail events@slough.gov.uk.
