Discover Beale Park - Wildlife Park & Gardens A great fun family day out, near Reading, Berkshire. Free angling days to get families hooked on fishing 19/08/08 - 20/08/08 The whole family will have the chance will have the chance to learn and improve their fishing skills during days to be held by the Environment Agency this summer at Beale Wildlife Park, Pangbourne. Following on from the success of last year's event, when over 200 people of all ages experienced the thrill of fishing, the event aims to give everyone the opportunity to learn new angling skills, whether complete beginners, or existing anglers. Participants can take advantage of one-to-one tuition sessions by qualified angling experts from the National Federation of Anglers. Everyone will also receive some free angling giveaways, as well as a £2 reduction in junior entrance to Beale Wildlife Park for participants over the two days of the event. Agency fisheries officers will be on hand manning educational environmental displays as well as supervising informative "pond-dipping" sessions where youngsters can learn more about water-life. Tom Sherwood, a fisheries officer at the Agency said: "The Environment Agency is committed to supporting events such as this and to promote angling in general. By giving people a chance to become involved in angling we are providing the opportunity to get closer to nature. Angling can be a hobby for life, which can be enjoyed for half-an-hour at a time or a full day and is just plain good fun." The event will take place on Tuesday 19th August and Wednesday 20th August from 9.30am-4.30 pm. Just turn up and have a go. For further information, please call Tom Sherwood on 01491 828358.
