Latest Album Release from Jazzmouse
The latest album recorded at Jazzmouse Studios has just been released, featuring the fabulous classical guitar work of David Jaggs. You may even have heard a short excerpt of one of the tracks on BBC2s "Open Gardens" programme as the producers of the show are using it as incidental music.
The new album release from Sujiro Productions is now available on iTunes. Entitled ‘Melodies’, this lovely album featuring the guitar of David Jaggs was produced entirely at Jazzmouse by Paul Fawcus. Music from the album can be heard on BBC 2 television on Monday afternoons at 15.15 on the “Open Gardens” show.
The album features eleven recordings of the most popular tunes from David's previous albums plus nine new songs. These are Ashokan Farewell, You Raise Me Up, Theme from New World Symphony, You're Beautiful, Greensleeves, Sleepy Shores, Ballade pour Adeline, Flower Duet and the Faure Pavanne.
Since its 18th century origins, the classical guitar has become one of today's most popular and versatile instruments, capable of reproducing many musical styles and subtle textures. A gifted classical guitarist, David Jaggs attended the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London under the direction of David Miller and Antonio Albanes.
After graduating with distinction, he become a private student of one of the world's leading classical guitarists, Manuel Barrueco in New Jersey, USA. As well as TV and Radio appearances, David’s career has taken him to many major venues up and down the country both as a soloist and in ensemble work.
