Jazzmouse Concerts, Activities, and Calendar Dates
What’s been happening in the world of Jazzmouse recently? Paul Fawcus has had a busy summer engineering concerts for BBC Radio 2 and Edinburgh Jazz Festival, somehow managing to refit the studio with state of the art HD equipment and finish production on the latest David Jaggs Album.
In August, Paul engineered 2 concerts at Beverley Minster featuring New Zealand opera singer Hayley Westenra (see www.hayleywestenra.com). Later that month he engineered 2 concerts for the Edinburgh Jazz Festival featuring Butch Miles and Jamie Davis – drummer ex-members of the Count Basie Orchestra.
The latest Jazzmouse album, ‘Melodies’ featuring classical guitarist David Jaggs, is now available on iTunes – recorded and produced at Jazzmouse Studios. Further recording work is scheduled throughout the autumn featuring various artists and musicians.
On 28th October Paul Fawcus will be playing at the Theatre Royal Windsor with the Syd Lawrence Orchestra. The orchestra is renowned for an exciting blend of high octane Big Band Swing and Classic Dance Music, with a repertoire ranging from the wartime million sellers of the legendary Glenn Miller through the era of the great Count Basie Orchestra to the hit songs of Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald. The Syd Lawrence Orchestra were recently voted “Best Big Band in the Land” for the eighth consecutive year.
And of 28th December, Paul will be engineering a concert for Welsh singer Christian Billett at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester. See www.bridgewater-hall.co.uk for details.
