Elliott Henshaw Album now available for download at Jazzmouse
As a recent article in the Daily Telegraph pointed out “Drummers are natural intellectuals” . Despite the unfair abuse that their colleagues, so called friends and peers levy upon them, drummers often perform feats of mental arithmetic that would keep Professor Hawking et al occupied for weeks. The trick is to make it sound fun! Many are called but few are chosen and one of the chosen few is Elliott Henshaw.
I have had the great pleasure of working with Elliott in various ensembles for some years now and at last he has made an album!

The album is amusingly titled “...is that not what you wanted?” and features a healthy mixture of original music composed by the guys in the band and music by artists such as Dave Weckl and David Sanborn.
Taking their influence from artists such as Dave Grusin and The Yellowjackets, they highlight the importance of groove and melody with plenty of opportunity for the players to stretch out and be creative. It quickly becomes evident why each of them is so in demand. Their collective CV's include working with Duran Duran, Katie Melua,
Charlotte Church, Shirley Bassey, The Brand New Heavies, G4, Gareth Gates
and Bob Mintzer to name just a few!!

Having already performed at various jazz clubs and festivals and a sold out headlining gig at the world famous Ronnie Scotts jazz club in London I strongly urge you to check out his band live and this fabulous album.
