Fantastic Four-day weekend! Friday 7th - Monday 10th Dec.
The next exhibition at Barn Acre Gallery is 'The fantastic four-day weekend' when the gallery will be open from 10 am to 10 pm over 4 days. There will be art work by more than 40 of our favourite artists and makers including spectacular original gifts for the festive season, and in addition to our wide range of paintings and prints, we will have a stunning selection of jewellery, sculpture and ceramics including several exciting new artists.
Kirsten Jones is the gallery owner and works here in the studio throughout the year, during the exhibitions she shows her new work and a selection of limited edition prints, alongside the 20 or so other artists who are chosen for their exciting, lively ideas and beautiful, often quirky, creations. Some are full time professionals and others are just starting their career, which always results in a fantastic show!
Barn Acre Gallery is a converted barn, set in 3 acres of beautiful gardens on the river in Wargrave. Twice a year the gallery opens its doors to the public with a collection of exciting art and jewellery. The first show is in May/June which corresponds with Oxfordshire Artweeks open studios, and the Henley Arts Trail (May 25th-28th 2007). To order a copy of our current broucher please contact us.
The second show is around December and at this time the gallery becomes a warm creative haven from the chill, with a wood burning stove, and a one-stop shop for the perfect, unique Christmas present or centre piece for your home.
Kirsten and Richard keep "comedy chickens".. unusual breeds which they hatch from eggs. Eric and Derek were the first to arrive, followed by Charlie, Bob and Chakra the (camp) cockerel with a simply fabulous hairstyle. The chickens are often in the gallery and seem to be one of our most popular exhibits!
