Tammachat is run by two lovely Canadian women, Ellen Agger and Alleson Kase. Both are highly knowledgable about fabrics, threads and fairly traded. They both bring a wealth of knowledge and hands on experience in supporting and empowering women and providing opportunities for traditional skills and crafts to be sustained. Working with women co-operatives in Laos and Thailand, they enable amazing slow fabrics and products to be supplied to the wider market outside of Laos and Thailand.

Rocket Gardens
Rocket Gardens seedlings are grown under large traditional unheated glass greenhouses with plenty of ventilation and watering facilities in order to produce healthy and hardy growing plants. Once the plants are established they are taken outside to a hardening off area before being sent to their final destination. The seedlings are grown totally without the use of pesticides, herbicides, chemical sprays and fertilisers. Unlike some nurseries Rocket Gardens do not believe in using artificial heat to raise our plants. This avoids the burning of fossil fuels and provides for a hardier growing seedling.

Eco Schools 2009 Conference
The event will showcase some of the fantastic work Eco-Schools across the country are doing as part of their sustainable journey, from working farms to wind turbines and beyond. The show will also be a celebration of Eco-Schools as the number of schools currently registered passed 50% of all English schools. We will be launching our brand new ‘Eco-Heroes’ Award which recognizes those people who go the extra mile to support young people through Eco-Schools.
