Eco Schools 2009 Conference
The event will showcase some of the fantastic work Eco-Schools across the country are doing as part of their sustainable journey, from working farms to wind turbines and beyond. The show will also be a celebration of Eco-Schools as the number of schools currently registered passed 50% of all English schools. We will be launching our brand new ‘Eco-Heroes’ Award which recognizes those people who go the extra mile to support young people through Eco-Schools.

Eco-Schools is an international award programme that guides schools on their sustainable journey, providing a framework to help embed these principles into the heart of school life. The Government in England wants all schools to be sustainable by 2020. Eco Schools Programme is an excellent step in the right direction for schools who wish to become more sustainable at the same time gain achieved goals and recognition.

Rocket Gardens
Rocket Gardens seedlings are grown under large traditional unheated glass greenhouses with plenty of ventilation and watering facilities in order to produce healthy and hardy growing plants. Once the plants are established they are taken outside to a hardening off area before being sent to their final destination. The seedlings are grown totally without the use of pesticides, herbicides, chemical sprays and fertilisers. Unlike some nurseries Rocket Gardens do not believe in using artificial heat to raise our plants. This avoids the burning of fossil fuels and provides for a hardier growing seedling.

NakedPan - Recycled cast iron Pans
NakedPan is a "naturally non-stick" and rust proof pan from Japan, made from cast iron. It enables food to be cooked quicker, using less heat and enhancing the flavour. NakedPans contain recycled cast iron (75%), and the pan can be recycled at the end of its useful life.
