Teapots - Cast Iron

The manufacturer, Oigen, has been producing cast iron products for over 150 years from Mizusawa City, Iwate Prefecture, Japan, a region famous for cast iron wares.

The **tetsubin is still produced using traditional artisan methods, which can for the senior artisan take up to 35 years. Hand made tetsubin has been recognised as a traditional handmade art since 1975. For those kettles and teapots which have been totally handmade, a gold label is attached with each teapot or kettle sold, proving it's authenticity.

It is believed that if you heat water in a Tetsubin, it will make the water taste “milder”.

Individual and trade orders are welcome.
