UK government falling behind green procurement targets |
|
I recently wrote an article on the UK Government leading the way in Sustainable Procurement and were to do so by 2009. For those of you who have not read it the link is as follows UK Government leads the EU in Sustainable Procurement.
Personally I do not like copying other sites copy, instead have provided a link to the third party site. The site is a Procurement Network site and the article being discussed says that the UK is actually falling behind green and sustainable procurement, instead of leading it. Please follow this link. If the UK Government are not working towards the goals of greener procurement that they actually stipulated in 2005. How can the UK Government in next sentence be lecturing and requesting that other countries must do their up most when looking at waste, carbon omissions, recycling, green technologies, green power sources and most important procurement? About Ngaire Takano: Ngaire Takano works within the eco sector sourcing (independently finding) eco, green, ethical, bio and traceable products and ingredients. This compliments the work that Ngaire undertakes in providing advisory and training skills to businesses, schools and individuals on sustainable, but more importantly traceable procurement measures. By being aware of the producers within the market - both locally, nationally and internationally Ngaire is able to provide tailored advice suited for the needs of your organisation and budget. |
