MCUSTA Knives

Since the 13th century, Seki in Gifu, Japan has been the centre for Japanese cutlery production. Due to it's rich resources of iron sand and charcoal and it's proximity to water Seki has provided the important elements to craft swords, knives and scissors. This is why Seki City continues to be the vibrant hub of Japanese cutlery manufacture.
MCUSTA knives are made in Seki City, Japan and combine traditional Japanese craftmanship and modern cutting edge technology. The design team uses a 3D.Cam system to design and create prototypes and new models to ensure ultimate in ergonomics. Unlike most mass produced knives which use the conventional method of die stamping, MCUSTA laser cut and C&C machine to assure the best possible precision fit. This is indeed an important step in the production of a superior blade. Each knife is then hand assembled and finished where upon it is inspected by MCUSTA's team of craftsment. MCUSTA are commonly known in Europe for producing high quality hand blades, though are now selling kitchen knives and high quality sashimi knives for sale - wholesale and direct to the public. Since January 2008 various knives have been placed with leading chefs in the UK, whereupon the response has been positive. Comments have ranged from "excellent handling", "cuts well", "reduces prep time by a considerable" and maintaining the knives is easy. Wholesale and direct sales are available. The MCUSTA knives have recently been listed in the Caterer Magazine and also on the Caterer Website .
