SOLD OUT !
100s of Plasma Screens on HoTAV's Unique Pay As they Play basis have now all been allocated. HoTAV have a limited stock of non-timer Plasmas still available to rent.
HotAV has launched a unique ‘Pay As They Play’ plasma screen hire initiative for the duration of the tournament.
Customers only pay for the time the screen is actually in use, rather than paying per day, week or month. Savage says "it has been a big investment for the company but it has certainly paid off. Almost all the new Plasma Screens (over 150) are now allocated and deliveries have staretd to roll out. We are using the latest 42 inch - Samsung HD Ready models and they are a perfect match for the World Cup and 2006 sporting season. We expect the usage to be as high as the demand."
Pubs, bars, clubs, hotels and other venues are used to paying a flat fee based on the amount of time they want to rent the screen for when hiring plasmas for major sporting events. However, according to Hot AV Managing Director Dave Savage, this method of rental is outdated and overpriced. “We have developed some unique technology that allows us to charge only for the time the screen is turned on, despite the venue having it on its premises for a full month,” he explains. “There is no charge when the screen is in standby and, at an all-inclusive cost of just £5.99 per hour viewed, the ‘Pay As They Play’ system makes the cost of rental extremely low and tailored around the games that the venue wants to screen.”
The cost/revenue implications for venues wishing to screen Beckham, Rooney, Owen and the boys’ quest for World Cup glory are significant. Hiring a 42” plasma screen from other suppliers for the duration of the World Cup (9th June to 9th July) would normally cost in the region of £1,000. Under Hot AV’s agreement however, even if a venue were to screen every single live match of the tournament (approximately 40 games when allowing for matches taking place at the same time), at 2 hours per game viewing time this would amount to just £400. “At £10 per game, the cost of screening a match is less than two pints of lager and a packet or crisps!”, says Savage. “But with the right marketing, the increase in business for venues screening the World Cup should be substantial.”
Under the terms of the agreement, Hot AV will supply a large screen format 42” plasma screen that can be plugged into an in-house audio system if required. Delivery, set up and collection are all free of charge. “A venue can screen every match possible or just the England games,” says Savage, “but usage levels are entirely down to the individual venue. All we ask is that the venue insures the screen against damage and keeps it for the entire duration of the tournament.”
