HotAV has estimated that it has reduced its C02 emissions by 77% from 215 tonnes to 49 tonnes per annum through its unique ‘pay as you go’ A.V rental programme, which cuts out around 50,000 miles of vehicle deliveries and collections per month.
Ordinarily, AV hire companies deliver and collect all of their equipment in vans on a daily basis and contribute considerably to the effects of global warming. There are over 1000 AV companies in the UK, which operate this way. To service our 400 customers across the UK, with an average of only 3 hired items of AV equipment per month, our travel would equate to an enormous 28,800 trips per annum. With our rental solution this is dramatically reduced.
We have invented and patented a timer chip, which is built-in the AV equipment, Projectors, P/A Systems and Plasma Screens so that the equipment can stay on-site without the usual daily pick up and collection trips. It also saves the venue money, as they are only charged for the actual usage time of the equipment, as well as it being much more convenient for the staff.
To compensate for the remaining, essential 23% of vehicle travel, HotAV have supported enough forestry to completely "neutralise" the CO2 emissions that are given off as a result of these trips and our whole AV rental business, making us effectively ‘carbon neutral’ and a real Eco leader in our industry.
We have also introduced ‘Dedicate-A-Tree’ scheme for new customers who sign up for our pay as you go programme, which doubles the effectiveness of our own efforts and helps support planters with their forestry renewal programmes.
Our pay-as-you-go audio-visual rental programme, combined with our dedicate-a-tree campaign, contributes to the reduction of global warming in a practical and responsible way.
