Weatherproof plasma soon to launch
Plasma screen technology has taken another step forward with a company offering a flat screen that it says is completely weatherproof.
According to Tech Digest, Densitrom Ferrograph has developed the product in order to take advantage of the outdoor market, so that those enjoying hospitality out of doors need no longer have to choose between watching an important sporting event and enjoying the weather.
The industry publication said that the screen would be a 50-inch model and has been completely sealed from the elements and meets IP65 standards, meaning it can cope with anything thrown its way.
Many of the latest plasma features are incorporated into the product, including technology that allows a wide viewing angle, no picture distortion and high colour quality, the publication said.
Pubs are thought to be the prime market for the product and the company is said to be targeting non-smoking venues. Customers leaving the premises to have a cigarette would not have to miss any of the action.
Price details have yet to be released.
