‘To many people, a chiropractor is someone who they visit when they can stand the pain no-longer’ says Ian, ’but if we use the dentist and toothache analogy, it’s actually easier and cheaper to have regular check-ups and to correct problems early. This is the approach many companies use to ensure that their workforce is fit and they apply it to all aspects of healthcare-including chiropractic’.

Ian regularly visits local companies to explain just what chiropractic involves and how chiropractors are trained to assess general health and more specifically pick up problems with the musculoskeletal system. He explained that back and neck pain respond readily to chiropractic treatment. But it doesn’t stop there, as a great deal of preventative work can be achieved through pinpointing precisely which muscle to stretch and which ones to strengthen. ‘This is where check-up visits come into their own as we can monitor how exercises are going and pick up any developing problems before they get to the point where someone has to take time off work’.
