Wilson Criticises First Great Western Timetable |
Reading East MP, Rob Wilson, today criticised First Great Western for its failure to communicate effectively and take into consideration the views of local groups concerning timetable changes.
Rob said: "I am very disappointed that First Great Western seems determined to inconvenience my constituents with a timetable that appears to have been developed for the company rather than its customers." Rob pointed to the case of Henley College where, despite meetings at a senior level and 'agreement' about a timetabled train for students to take from Reading at 7.28am, this has now been dropped without consultation. This has caused massive inconvenience to Henley College, which has now had to rewrite its entire College timetable. Rob said: "This is little short of incompetence and a sad reflection on the way the company is being run. "We already have dirty overcrowded FGW trains to deal with, now we have a franchise holder which doesn't value its customers. "I hope this behaviour has nothing to do with the fact that it recently won a new franchise." Rob has written to the Minister responsible and the Managing Director of FGW . |
