Microsoft has warned that increasing number of homeworkers are suffering from Repetitive Strain Injury. A spokeswoman said that milllions could be lost from the economy as a result of staff being struck down with RSI 'It costs more than £300M a year and HR departments need to be educated that easy prevention can be done'

Today’s statistics on the BBC website show that nearly 70% of households own computers – we are now all ‘computer athletes’, some starting at the tender ages of 5. Unfortunately, unlike other athletes, we choose to remain ignorant of a proper training regime, and therefore become potential victims of computer related repetitive strain injury (RSI) RSI is more widespread than most of us realise and yet there is limited awareness surrounding the condition.. Many sufferers may not even be aware of the signs yet 1 in 10 computer users will be affected by RSI and recent estimates by the Health & Safety Executive suggest work related issues like RSI are costing UK businesses over £1bn billion every year. Reading-based FixMe Ltd is on a mission to raise RSI awareness.
