Media handshake for redundant City traders
As I was preparing to retire to the more relaxed family environment after a hard day's graft in my shed, (or posh home office as those of a southern disposition tend to prefer) an email landed from a respected source that had me rolling around the floor in hysterics.
These chaps up in the city who have been juggling with our economy for years are now being prized by recruitment companies as hot property, perfect for the small business market.
If you don’t mind me saying, “What a load of twaddle, yes TWADDLE!”
It takes hard working, straight talking, reality checked individuals to run a small business. Why would they consider employing an inflated ego with knobs on to advise them on how they should manage their finances?
I guess this is simply marketing spiel from an agency in fear or having to reduce their fees down to something that smaller businesses would be willing to pay; after all the big businesses are a tad over extended and will probably not be recruiting until 2010!
If you have something to say in 2008, make sure you say it with sincerity and not because you read a book by some PR guru in the 80’s that said big it up, whatever it is, give it bells and whistles and a huge knocker and the peasants will come a calling. Those days are over and its over to the less flamboyant but steady Wayne’s and Waynetta’s to tell you how it is. Then if you choose to read it with pinch of salt that’s all you’ll need, not the Salt flats of Utah!
