Dean Richards MBE
Global-Investment Opportunities Sponsors an Entrepreneurial Networking Event on Monday May 12th 2008
Dean Richards, MBE, was born and raised in Leicestershire, and has played for Leicester 314 times. He was captain for four seasons, and scored more than 100 tries from the back row. In Dean’s first year in management, he steered Leicester to the Premiership League. In 2005, he took over as Harlequins’ Director of Rugby.
Dean played in 48 Internationals; was in three World Cup squads and also appeared for the Lions in six test matches in 1989 and 1993. He changed the way that the game was played from the back row, ran lines that were considered strange at the time, and had an unprecedented ability to be just where the ball was due to arrive, and do exactly what his team required.
His tactical and leadership ability, as well as a willingness to be in where the action was toughest, was as pivotal to his leadership on the rugby pitch as it is any business today.
Dean is sharing his insights as the most capped Rugby Union number 8 in the world, on Monday May 12th, during a champagne reception with canapés at Warren House.
