Equity Fund Seekers
An integral part of the Equity Entrepreneur© program is that Equity Entrepreneurs© and business entrepreneurs work and learn together – that is why we reserve a minimum of four places on each Workshop for fundseekers.
Having a great business idea can be very exciting, and natural enthusiasm has an enormous temptation to let prospective fantasy to override foot-slogging reality.
But trying to raise the funds for a new or growing enterprise often rapidly re-adjusts this balance!
No-one has ever found this aspect of entrepreneurial activity easy, but going to the experts at least increases the chances of success while reducing a lot of wasted effort.
If you want to know whether or not your project or business is likely to attract capital, there are five basic questions you need to ask yourself:
From your track record, can you demonstrate an ability to turn someone else’s money into profit?
Have you a clear idea of where you want to take the business, and when and how do you propose to exit?
How do you justify the value you are placing on the business today?
How much money do you really need, when and why?
What sort of skills and expertise do you want in an investor and is there a role for him?
If you think you can provide good answers to these, would like to attend a Workshop and have written at least a rudimentary business plan – there being no point in refining it before meeting with the experts – then please contact Us. We will get back to you with questions leading to the next steps. Applicants may also be referred to our Funding- and Business Adviser Partners.
And if you’d like to see how one inventor managed to pursue her goal, please watch a cut from BBC’s Working Lunch program.
