Successful Business Angel practice.
To follow up the Equity Entrepreneur ‘How to be a successful Business Angel’ workshops, new Business Angels are introduced to an experienced and successful Business Angel Mentor
The Equity Entrepreneur© philosophy is simple:
Success = Skill & Intelligence + Knowledge + Experience
To follow up the Equity Entrepreneur ‘How to be a successful Business Angel’ workshops, new Business Angels are introduced to an experienced and successful Business Angel Mentor who gets in contact to arrange a meeting and iron out any questions arising. The successful Business Angel will also be a member of a Business Angel investment Club, where regular meetings are held and to which the new Business Angel is invited.
Attendance at these meetings entirely voluntary – but with the successful Business Angel mentors as existing members, and with the benefit of the social aspects, many do join in. The investment Club meetings focus on real deal flow, live presentations and discussions from the whole range of local Business Angel networks, and emphasise collaborative investigations and investment.
And finally – the good news is that at least in theory the new Business Angel is now settled in a couple of Investor Clubs, which are socially fun as well as bringing together a wide range of successful Business Angels’ expertise for knowledgeable analysis and discussion of deals; the new Business Angel will be a member of several Business Angel Networks and receive regular information about new opportunities; he will subscribe to a number of specialist publications, which keep him up to speed on what’s going on; and he’s possibly made a few early stage investments.
Now the successful Business Angel has got to get his money back.
The successful Business Angel, and his Club colleagues, will need to mentor and support their investee businesses with a view to helping them help make a profit for everyone. And not just make a profit for the business, but make the successful Business Angel a real cash profit within an acceptable timeframe. (Yes, we know that’s what they said when you invested; funny how things sometimes change after the cheques have cleared….)
