Environmental issues are always in the news these days - whether it be the latest battle in the war against gas-guzzling cars, or the next ingenious strategy for offsetting your carbon footprint (which itself is a term that’s only crept into common use recently). Scientists agree that global warming is definitely occurring, so what can we do NOW to slow down the inevitable rise in the earth’s surface temperature? Although it’s not a new problem – it’s been happening ever since the industrial revolution – experts are quick to point out that in the last 20 years or so, human activities resulting in carbon production have increased dramatically. It’s a price we pay for all the technology that surrounds us each and every day, at home and in the workplace. For businesses, complete avoidance of all CO2 emissions is almost impossible - but there is even an answer to this dilemma : Carbon Offsetting. Calculate the amount of carbon emissions your firm produces, then sponsor environmentally sound projects aimed at offsetting your contribution to greenhouse gases. The good news is there is plenty we can all do to help minimize our carbon emissions and save energy in the process.
