DLP Planning has been instructed by OC Ventures to submit a full planning application for 92 apartments at Lion House, Slough. DLP Planning are working with Catalyst Regeneration, architects, to convince the planners that the scheme will be compatible with existing and permitted buildings in the locality, including several high density, high rise developments adjoining the railway and bus stations. The U-shaped building will be 3 and 4 storeys in height. The 92 apartments will be 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom units and a number of them will be “affordable”. DLP Planning has prepared a Planning, Design and Access statement to accompany the application. DLP Transportation has also been instructed and has prepared a Transport Assessment, which demonstrates that the proposed dwellings will generate no more traffic than the existing commercial uses on the site. The application was submitted in November 2007. A previous application for 117 apartments on the site was refused by the Council and DLP Planning has submitted an appeal to the Secretary of State.
