DLP Planning’s Reading office has been instructed by Taylor Wimpey to assist with a revised planning application for 324 apartments, restaurant and hotel at Aldermaston Road, Basingstoke. The site is allocated in the adopted local plan, but a previous planning application had to be withdrawn, because of objections from Hampshire County Council highway authority, North Hants architects panel and a neighbouring hospice. Jim Bailey has been instructed to manage the consultancy team to ensure that a new application is submitted, which overcomes these objections and secures planning approval on the site, which is owned by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council. Revised plans are currently being drawn up with a view to submitting a new application to the Council in January 2008.
