Microsoft Innovate-UK Website to Promote Innovation
Microsoft recently launched www.innovate-uk.com, an innovation-themed website where their partners can share software innovation stories. The aim is to direct Microsoft’s partners to relevant resources whilst demonstrating the scope and usage of their software.
The new website will focus on showing software partners examples of what can be achieved using Microsoft technologies as a springboard to innovation. The software giant runs an early-adopter programme for beta-testing new products; it is these latest technologies that are featured on the site (Windows Vista for example).
It is hoped that the new site will encourage partners to get their own products to market quicker, with the benefit gaining access to pre-release Microsoft technologies – effectively giving them a competitive advantage. Over 300 were already working with Windows Vista and 2007 Office System prior to the official release.
A spokesman for Microsoft is quoted as saying: “Our research has shown that 9 out of 10 software partners want the chance to work with pre-release Microsoft technologies so their applications can be some of the first to take advantage of them. Innovate-UK will create an important resource to help them make the most of doing so.”
The company aims to support innovation within its partner network and help them to be competitive. Innovate-UK is a resource that will further this cause.
