Marlow’s creative services agency, fst The Group, has achieved international recognition in the finals of the prestigious European Design Awards, held at City Hall in Stockholm. Its designs for the branding of its new sustainability communications division, B. sustainable, were chosen from thousands of entries and named amongst the top 10 finalists in the Brand Implementation category.
“Reaching the finals of such a well respected and high profile competition is a huge achievement for fst”, said Managing Director, Otto Marples. “We specialise in creating brand identities to enhance the businesses, brands and reputations of a diverse portfolio of clients, but this was an opportunity to create a brand for ourselves, and it’s great to know we got it right.”
The new B. sustainable arm of fst The Group was conceived to deliver creative solutions for clients looking to implement Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility communication programmes within their organisations. Recent customers include Lend Lease, Kingspan, Unilever, and ABN Amro. They are also speculatively developing proposals for Visit Britain and Virgin Atlantic.
Run by a board of three Directors, including Marlow resident Mark Howard, fst has been in business for seventeen years, delivering integrated marketing communications for the likes of Visa, Avis, Scottish Provident, Rentokil Initial, LeasePlan, Lend Lease, Budget and Siemens.
The launch of B. sustainable has encouraged fst The Group to look to its own sustainability credentials and the agency has recently achieved ‘Planet Positive’ accreditation – a badge awarded to organisations which have proved their commitment to implementing environmentally friendly strategies within the day to day running of their businesses.
“Everyone here has been encouraged to make an effort to reduce their carbon footprint, both at work and in their own homes,” said Director of the B Sustainable division, Ed Harvey. “Our belief is to reduce as much of our emissions as we possibly can, and where we are unable to reduce to zero, offset this by investing into carbon reduction projects around the world. We have put in a shower in the agency to encourage people to cycle or run to work instead of taking the car. We have installed an energy monitor, have a switch off policy for all lights and computers when not in use, a strict recycling scheme, a car share where possible and we even feed the birds in each of the 4 courtyard gardens we have at the office!”
