Cartoon Network's new Development Studio chooses Kinnarps Background Major project to bring all teams within the Turner Group together Cartoon Network is a part of the Turner Group, housed in Great Marlborough Street in London, having moved there as part of a major project to bring all the teams within Turner - news (CNN) ; Kid's (Cartoon Network, Cartoon Network Too, Boomerang, Toonami) ; and movies (TCM) - together from dispersed sites at the beginning of the new millennium. Objectives Cartoon Network wanted their design studio to look different This new project was to house the formation of the Development Studio, a new hotbed of creative talant with the aim of creating the best cartoon content in Europe. This team of 20 or so talanted creatives, is a significant on the part of Turner Broadcasting Europe in an effort to increase the amount wholly-owned Turner content originating outside of the USA. Russell Parry, Vice President of European Facilities for Turner Broadcasting says, " For this new unite we decided to take additional space in an annexe buildnig in Great Chapel Street, just around the corner from Turner House, where we could create a design studio feel". Solution New and adventurous design As an established supplier to Turner Broadcasting for over 15 years, Kinnarps was invited to suggest solutions that would achieve the desired enviroment. To fulfil the goal of 'new and adventurous' the timing was fortuitous as Kinnarps suggested looking at their forthcomming, as yet prototype,Series[f] desking with Rezon screens and the new 9000 task chairs.
