How to Get the Best Out of Life
Do you feel you’re truly getting the best out of life? Do you feel fulfilled in your personal and professional life or are there some areas which need attention? Often it’s difficult to know how or where to start making life changes, and if you’ve just come through an emotionally draining time it can be particularly difficult to get back on track. Personal Life Styling may be the answer – it’s a process of identifying the areas of your life need attention, then working at fixing them.

Deborah Lee decided to become a Personal Life Stylist as a result of her own experiences through a particularly difficult and testing time in her life. In a journey which lasted over 2 years, Deborah struck up relationships with a number of experts in a variety of fields including image makeovers, life coaching, cosmetic surgery and a variety of alternative therapies, many of whom have since become part of her trusted network.

Through her own experiences and the change process she underwent, Deborah soon found that friends and acquaintances would come to her for advice about their own life issues, as she explains: “Many times, I would find myself offering informal advice and helping people get to the root of their problems. In some cases, they just needed a sympathetic ear, but if they needed help with a specific area of their life I would often refer them to one of the professionals I’d worked with myself. Recently I decided to formalize this approach into a business – so far with excellent feedback”.

Deborah helps people deal with change in their lives, something which can be a lonely process particularly if the change has been forced by a relationship breakdown. Her role is very much ‘friend with a dispassionate eye’ – someone who can give relevant, impartial advice and support. Initially, she will have an informal discussion with the client to determine how best to address the client’s issues. “It’s an informal session, free of charge, which gives the client a chance to understand how I work and to decide how best to proceed.”

A fortnightly consultation either by phone or Skype is typical, reverting to monthly sessions once progress is being made. However, this structure is flexible, easily adjusted to suit the individual requirements of the client. Deborah will only refer her clients to her trusted network if she has identified a specific need which can be addressed with specialist help in a particular self-help field.

“We all suffer at times from a lack of self-confidence” says Deborah, “but few of us truly understand how devastating the impact can be on us if we fail to address it”.
