Brent Crude Oil
Brent Crude oil is sourced from the North Sea and is traded on “ICE”, the electronic IntercontinentalExchange, where one contract consists of 1,000 barrels. Prior to 2005, Brent Crude was traded on London’s International Petroleum Exchange. During 2007, Brent Crude futures traded at a premium of up to $3 a barrel to West Texas Intermediate. WTI, or Texas Light Sweet, is one example of a benchmark used for the pricing of the crude oil market.
The Brent Crude benchmark - also known as Brent Blend - acts as a benchmark for oil flowing out of the Middle Eastern, European and African markets. Those oils are priced in relation to the price of Brent Crude. Brent Crude is a major oil classification. Others are Brent Sweet Light Crude, Forties and Oseberg.
Crude Oil futures trading can offer investors an excellent investment vehicle. Oil futures can be successfully incorporated into a larger crude oil futures trading system. Mansion House can provide commodities investors with Brent Crude oil charts and advice about investing in this rewarding market.
