Millionaire Mind meets Business in Berkshire
“We liked the programme so much, we decided to have our own, and inspire businesses in Berkshire to be more successful!” explains Jon Davey founder of Business in Berkshire. The dinner took place at Oakley Court Hotel and was attended by 60 local businesses including two who took the “hot seat”.
On this occasion Duncan was giving business advice, rather than investing, but his message was clear: “It is easy to make £1 million, £10 million or £100 million”. Contrary to the popular myth that entrepreneurs are born not made, he only went into business at the age of 30, but amassed a fortune of 42m within 14 years and is now worth £135m. Like many self-made millionaires, Duncan Bannatyne has few formal qualifications: “You don’t have to fail at school to be successful, but if you have got nothing to lose, you take the risks necessary to make the business work”. The audience participated in solving the business problems of those in the Hot Seat, and the evening was a great success with a good deal of humour as well as business advice.
