Thai Boxing's biggest event of the year seeks sponsor |
The biggest Thai Boxing event of 2008 is coming to the Watford Colosseum on 30th November: and Sky Sports will be broadcasting the spectacle. "The Contender Asia Season 2 UK Eliminator" will see the Muay Thai practitioners in the world go head-to-head in ring fights and adventurous challenges. The UK Contender Eliminator is to find the best that the UK has to offer to represent our country with skill and pride and to go on to Malaysia to meet with the remaining 15 contestants from around the world. In Malaysia, 16 men from 12 countries will compete for a cash prize and the right to be named "The Contender Asia Champion." The event has a massive following: try typing "contender Asia" into YouTube to see some of the excitement already whipping up around the series! Hanif Khan and his colleagues at Video Shoot Productions will be filming the event. Their production will then be broadcast by Sky Sports. The first broadcast date scheduled by Sky Sports 2 is 17th December 2008: the programme will then be repeated three time. It will also shown on Sky Sports 3 and repeated three times, and there is a potential that it will also be broadcast on Sky Sports Extra. Fans can purchase a DVD of the whole event for £15.00 as well as photographs: these items will become collectors items, so contact Hanif to get your hands on them!
