How do you find a good business coach ? |
We all have times when we know that we could really do with some good expert help in developing our business more rapidly or pushing it onto the next stage. Here are some tips to make sure you get a good one............
However, trying to find a good business coach is a minefield. Its all too easy for anyone to jump on the coaching bandwagon. Simply pay your money, join one of the many franchised DIY coaching organisations and off you go ! So how do you find a good coach ? Obviously it will need to be someone that you feel that you can get on with personally. Beyond that, if you look for evidence of three essential ingredients - professional qualifications, personal business track record in your field of business and happy clients that can talk about the improvements in their business as a direct result of the coaching, then your chances of a profitable outcome are greatly increased. Taking my coaching business as an example - I coach high- tech and IT business to business organisations to help them improve their sales and marketing results. These are the fields where I have a proven track, both in actually doing the job successfully myself and in developing and coaching others to be successful. So I don't coach in business to consumer sales and I don't coach accountants, solicitors or farmers because I am not an expert in their fields (excuse the pun) ! Business coaches can produce valuable long term results, just make sure you get a real one !
