Wokingham's Biggest Coffee Morning

The Farm Café helps create a stir for the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning

Each year Macmillan cancer support runs a nationwide event called the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. It is estimated that over 2 million people across the UK raised a cup of coffee (or something similar!) in aid of this great event last year. The hope for 2008 is to raise around £8 million and The Farm Café in Wokingham aims to contribute to this challenge.

The date for this event is Friday 26th September and we will be joining in by offering homemade cakes, specialist biscuits and our popular ethically grown & traded coffee & fair-trade teas. By donating the proceeds of all biscuits sold plus a percentage from coffee and cake sales the café hopes to tot up a worthwhile donation. There will also be competitions throughout the day such as The Grid Game to win between £500 and £7000 worth of John Lewis vouchers! Customers can also guess the Coffee Beans in the jar or join in the ‘Design a Sandwich’ contest where the winner’s creation will win a donation for the charity and be named after them on the specials board next week!

The Farm Cafe opened in March when new owners, Vic & Karen said they wanted to create “a great quality cafe serving delicious food that would appeal to many people”. It seems they achieved this aim, not only through their recent 5 star award for excellence with the council ‘Scores on The Doors’ scheme but also evident from the queues that form outside for what one regular customer calls “the best breakfast in Berkshire”!

We’re open Tuesday to Friday from 7.30am, from 9.30 and 10 am at the weekends. Visit the Farm Cafe at Ashridge Manor Garden Centre, Forest Road, Wokingham, Berkshire RG40 5QY or call us on 01189 773595.
