NOTICE TO INSTITUTE OF EXPORT MEMBERS & INTERESTED PARTIES
ECGD PROPOSALS TO CHANGE FOREIGN CONTENT RULES + BEXA INITITIATIVE FOR BOND SUPPORT PROGRAMME TO HELP SME'S MID-WESSEX & THAMES VALLEY BRANCH MEETING 26TH FEBRUARY 2007 IN WOKINGHAM 18:30 HOURS HOW TO RESPOND The Public Consultation on changes to the ECGD’s policy on support for Foreign content in UK export contracts was opened in June 2006 and closed on 31st October. The Consultation process has recently been reopened to obtain views from Trades Unions and certain Trade Associations representing SMEs. The new deadline is 28th February 2007 The opportunity exists for Institute members and other export organisations & individuals to make their views known and have an input into the Consultation process. The MWTV Branch have decided to create a forum for discussion of the issues involved. . A meeting is being convened AT SHORT NOTICE in Wokingham, Berkshire at 18:30 for 19:00 hours on Monday 26th February 2007 for this purpose. It will address 2 points 1. The issues relating to Foreign Content 2. Consideration of the need for a bond support programme for SMEs bidding for overseas contracts that has been proposed by BExA in relation to this consultation process. A Notice is attached providing more details on the meeting and links to follow through if you cannot attend the meeting on 26th February.
