Wokingham Schools Careers Fair10/11/11 The Wokingham Schools Careers Fair was a great success - a fantastic tribute to team working! Students and parents had the opportunity of speaking directly to employers, college leaders, university representatives and apprenticeship providers to ask them directly about routes into employment. Seventy-eight exhibitors took part, with representatives from every skills sector - IT, finance, hospitality, creative and media, construction, science, business, administration and public service. This included some of the most significant employers in the region, like Microsoft, Barclays, Glaxo Smith Kline, Marks & Spencer, John Lewis, Thales, Foster Wheeler, BG Group, Ernst & Young and Deloitte, to name just a few. It was a hard day’s work for the employers who were endlessly patient in answering students’ questions but the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. They felt it had been worthwhile for them because they were able to engage with young people directly.  more |

Mark Ashwell to meet local business leaders09/04/10 Today, Mark Ashwell agreed to come and meet the local business leaders prior to the workshop. He has another meeting at 10:30 with the returning officer so we brought the meeting registration time forward to accommodate those business leaders who would like to get 5 minutes 121 with a man that has a real chance of being Wokingham's next MP. more

Planning and Finance for Real Businesses25/01/10 After the disappointment of cancelling our January event due to the snowy conditions I hope you are all set for February instead. We have combined the themes from January and February to make it Planning and Finance and have already signed up several Associates and presenters. Places will be offered on a first come, first served basis as long as there is not too much overlap of expertise as this would detrimental to the club. I will also be pleased to sign you up for the next three months (Feb, Mar, Apr) which will not only ensure your place but also give you first refusal to present a micro seminar. more |
