Local Businesses Flip for Charity
With Shrove Tuesday less than four weeks away (February 5th), the Pancake Challenge has once again been set. Local businesses are being encouraged to sign up for the annual Windsor town centre pancake race.
The race traverses a 50-metre course across the Windsor and Eton Bridge where competitors in groups of four must sprint to the finish tossing their pancakes all the way (at a minimum height of three feet).
With an emphasise on fancy dress, all competitors are being invited to dress up in a skirt, apron, headscarf and frying pan with a prize being drawn for the best looking team.
Chairman of Windsor and Eton Town Partnership, Councillor Colin Rayner stated "Everyone has a really good time while raising money for two very worthwhile local causes. Events like this are very good for the town, and help to generate a real sense of community and belonging. So come on everyone, let's see some new faces at the starting line this year – with four weeks to go there's still plenty of time to get those 'flipping' skills perfected and enjoy taking part in a real fun event."
The money raised from this year's race will once again go towards Thames Hospice Care and the Windsor and Eton Christmas Lights appeal.
Last years winners, the Windsor Observer are set to return but can they successfully defend their title?
