Business in Windsor - Information centre shortlisted for tourism award

The Royal Windsor Information Centre has been nominated for a prestigious award from Tourism South East.

Making it to the final five, the facility is hoping to be crowned winner of a Tourism ExSEllence Award 2007.

Chairman of the visitor management forum councillor Elisabeth Barton was delighted to find out the centre has been shortlisted into the top five out of 500 outlets all around the country.

"The shortlisting is a well-deserved tribute to the staff who deal with hundreds of queries on subjects ranging from attractions and accommodation to parking, public transport, history and restaurants," she said.

She also added that the facility ensures millions of tourists visit the area each year, providing important business for local firms.

Furthermore, she remarked that the staff must deliver excellent customer service to guarantee visitors will return each year.

One of the events Windsor hosts regularly is a Farmers' Market held every first Saturday of the month.
