Golden Walk through Windsor Great Park
Mobility Supplies.Com are organising a ‘Golden Walk’ through Windsor Great Park on Sunday October 2nd to raise monies for The Research Institute for the Care of the Elderly (RICE).
This patron of RICE is the Duchess of Kent and its director is Professor Roy Jones B.Sc, MB, FRCP, who is the brother of Alan Jones who owns MobilitySupplies.Com. RICE is based at St Martins Hospital in Bath where they are building a new research wing. RICE is a world leader in research into the debilitating disease of Alzheimer’s.
We are limiting the number of walkers to 200 and each person is asked to raise a minimum of £100.00 in personal sponsorship. As there are a wide variety of ages and abilities taking part in the walk we have given walkers a choice of distances 5 miles or 12/13 miles (half marathon).
The local papers are being very helpful in assisting us with weekly articles and photographs through to October promoting the Golden Walk, RICE, information on walking, aid to memory improvement and much more.
Any write up by their editorial staff will give maximum publicity to those people who are assisting us, namely Best of Health, Sky TV, Diageo, QVC, Old Windsor Memorial Hall, Fox and Hounds, St John Ambulance and others.
So how can you help us?
Answer. Simply by sponsoring the organisers who will have walked the half marathon several times already with initial planning, yes and have several more miles to walk to organise the day itself.
The two organisers for the walk are:
Jeanne Jones of www.MobilitySupplies.Com
and Glen Johnson Taylor
All we ask is for you to send a cheque c/o Mobility Supplies.com, 136 Lower Cippenham Lane, Cippenham Village Slough, Berks SL1 5EA made payable to RICE.
Please help us in making either a patient or their carers Golden Years more comfortable.
Thank you for helping us to make a difference.
With kind regards,
Jeanne Jones and Glen Johnson Taylor
