Established in 1969, the Windsor Fringe is the oldest Fringe festival in England and has a long tradition of encouraging new talent. Every year the Fringe puts on an inspired and innovative programme of entertainment featuring music, dance, comedy, drama, and art. Amateur playwrights can also submit their unpublished one-act plays and 3 lucky winners see their play performed on stage.
Amateur playwrights have submitted their entries for the 2007 Windsor Fringe Marriott Award for New Drama Writing. From the scripts submitted, three winners are selected for performance during Windsor Fringe Drama Nights taking place through September and October. One lucky winner will also receive the £500 prize.
The three winning playwrights last year were
RICHARD ROQUES with Don't Open the Door,
NADIA AL YAFAI with Cafe Cinderella, and
JULIE FORD with A Woman Thing.
