INTERNATIONAL SPEECH AND EVALUATION CONTEST
The best Public Speaker in the Reading Area will be chosen from five contestants on Monday 5th March when the Reading Speakers Club holds its International Speech and Evaluation Contest.

The event will be hold upstairs at the Salisbury Club, 316 Kings Road, Reading, RG1 4HX starting at 7.15pm for 7.30pm. All are invited to join the audience.

The contest always provides some outstanding inspirational speeches from old and new members alike. The winner of this contest will compete against the winners from clubs in Windsor, Maidenhead, and Chiltern Speakers Clubs. Subsequent rounds will be held at regional and national level. The National Champion will compete to become World Public Speaking Champion.

The Evaluation Contest allows members to test their listening skills and provide high quality feedback. As Alex Reid, the Vice-President Education explained, 'Evaluation is key to encouraging club members to develop excellent communication skills.'

The club was proud that Alex successfully progressed to the Regional Finals of the Humorous Speech Contest in October last year.

Reading Speakers Club exists to provide a friendly environment for members to enhance their natural speaking and leadership skills. The club is one of 10,000 clubs throughout the world affiliated to Toastmasters International.
