Defending Local Business - Local MP visits Rockwell Collins UK Ltd
Rob Wilson MP visited Rockwell Collins UK Ltd earlier today to gain a first hand appreciation of the work being done by the firm in Reading East, and its support for the British Army in Afghanistan. Situated in Suttons Business Park, Rockwell Collins UK Ltd employs 360 people in Reading East and is an important part of the local economy. Rob was given a tour of the company’s facilities which provides innovative communication and aviation electronics solutions for British troops on the front line and was introduced to members of the workforce. During the visit Rob said, “I’m delighted to be given the opportunity to come back to Rockwell Collins as the UK Defence Industry is essential in safeguarding our nation. We are currently fighting a difficult war in Afghanistan and we must make sure our troops have the tools they need. I am pleased that a company based in my constituency is developing such vital equipment.” Steve Banham, Managing Director of Rockwell Collins UK Ltd, added, “We are proud to be part of the UK defence industry which provides equipment and support to our Armed Forces.
