Wilson thanks Royal Mail staff for delivering a first-class Christmas
Rob Wilson MP visited Royal Mail’s Reading sorting office on Friday to say thank you to our postmen and women who work so hard over the Christmas period. Over Christmas the employees at Royal Mail sorting office work long hours and extra shifts to make sure that all our cards and presents are delivered on time. The Reading East MP took a tour of the sorting office to see how the mountain of Christmas post is dealt with. Rob made an early start to meet Manjit Sandhu, Reading Sorting Office Manager, and some of the 226 Royal Mail employees, who are responsible for ensuring that the people of Reading receive a first-class Christmas. He followed his tour by holding an advice surgery to support postal workers concerned about their prospects as the Reading sorting office is wound down before operations are moved to Swindon in the New Year. Rob was received well by many postal workers and will be working closely with the Royal Mail to ensure Reading continues to play an important part in the Royal Mail’s business. Ed: I'd just like to add my thank you to the Royal Mail for ensuring a smooth postal service and happy postmen in our neck of the woods! Thanks chaps |
