Premier Route returns to Reading
Reading Buses have announced that they are re-launching their Premier Route after discussions with the customers.

From Monday 25th February, the green buses will operate every seven to eight minutes, which should help commuters travelling to and from work. There will also be more regular services in the evenings and on Sundays.

Each new bus will also have a low floor, which will allow easier access for disabled people, the elderly and parents with buggies.

Councillor Tony Jones, said: “These improvements will bring Premier Routes to Lower Earley, Woodley and West Reading to match those enjoyed by the rest of the town”.

“The completion of the Premier Route network on February 25 will mark a new era, bringing more frequent and better quality buses to these communities.”

Reading Buses chief executive James Freeman stated: “This is an exciting step that takes more services closer to matching our customers’ needs.”

“The next phase of improvements will be in mid-April, when Premier Route 17 will be re-launched with a 24-hour, seven day week service using ground-breaking super-green, ethanol-powered buses”.
