MP Street Surgery Tour 2008

Rob Wilson MP’s ‘Street Surgery Tour’ 2008 ‘a great success’

26th September 2008

Rob Wilson, spent this week visiting areas across his Reading East constituency as part of his annual ‘Street Surgery Tour’ where he meets with constituents on the streets and listens to any concerns or problems that they may have.

On Thursday, he spent most of the morning and lunchtime outside Costa in Caversham Shopping Precinct, followed by a visit to Emmer Green in the afternoon where he met with constituents outside Budgens on Cavendish Road.

He followed this up with a visit on Friday morning to Woodley, where he spoke with constituents at Woodley Precinct for most of the morning before visiting south Reading later in the afternoon.

Commenting, Rob said, “I do my street surgery tour every year during the parliamentary recess and it’s been great to see so many familiar faces around the constituency, meeting people in their own communities.

"The tour complements my weekly MP’s surgeries and the publication of my latest Parliamentary Report – which should be arriving on doormats across the constituency, which reports back on what I have been doing on the last couple of months.

"There’s nothing better than talking to people face-to-face about their concerns and the problems in each area of the constituency. I feel that it is very important for an MP to get out and about in the community and hear from local people. It’s been a great success this year and I was really taken back by the fantastic feedback which my team and I received.”

For anyone that didn’t get a chance to see Rob on Thursday or Friday, please feel free to come along to one of his weekly surgeries – details can be found on his website – robwilsonmp.com, on his Facebook page, or in the local press.
