New Hotel Proposed for Slough Station
Plans are afoot for a new hotel to be built opposite the entrance to Slough railway station. The site was once home to the grand Royal Hotel, a local landmark until its demolition in the late 70s to make way for offices.
Right in the centre of Slough, the new nine-storey hotel will occupy a prime location, helping to boost Slough’s reputation as a modern business centre. Construction is expected to begin in October.
The proposed hotel – an Express by Holiday Inn – has been designed by Derby-based Morrison Design Ltd, designers of a similar hotel in Croydon (again for Express by Holiday Inn).
The design includes over 140 air-conditioned bedrooms, a public lounge and dining room, meeting rooms, and car parking facilities.
Slough was designated as a regional transport hub last year which makes the railway location all the more appropriate for the new hotel.
