Slough celebrates Shayne |

Slough has received its guest of the year Shayne Ward as hundreds of screaming girls clambered to get a glimpse of the heartthrob.
The pop singer and X Factor winner kick-started the festive season by switching on the Christmas lights in Slough, the Slough & Windsor Observer reports. With the help of Slough mayor Rashad Butt, the star pulled a leaver which ignited a chorus of celebratory fireworks. Young girls were seemingly the most delighted of all the visited, as they screamed and held up banners and posters for Shayne. One local girl, 17-year-old Fay Blackmore, said she had thoroughly enjoyed the event. "This has been the best day of my life. I can’t believe I met and hugged Shayne Ward," she told the news source.
