Slough gets X-cited
Pop singer Shayne Ward will be coming to Slough next month to switch on the Christmas lights, much to the delight of his fans.
The celeb will be wooing fans at Queensmere and Observatory shopping centres when he does the ceremonial switching on of the festive lights on November 15th, Slough Borough Council has announced.
Events manager of the council Susan Duncan is ecstatic about the news, stating that the crowd "will go mad".
Slough’s shopping centre manager Arnold Wilcox-Wood added: "Its official; Slough has the X Factor."
He noted that the current series of the TV show means X Factor fever is currently gripping the nation.
"We wanted to make sure that Slough did not miss out," he said.
The star will perform on stage during the event, which could include hits from his much-anticipated second album.
Fans of the singer may be interested to hear that he will presenting a week-long holiday special for GMTV soon before arriving back home for his birthday on October 16th.
