Slough TNT Depot Contributes to International Award
TNT Express Services' branch in Slough is celebrating after helping the company to secure an important international award.
The business-to-business express delivery company has been awarded the People Development Award at the IFW Freighting Industry Awards, widely regarded to be the most prestigious accolade in the international transport industry.
Stuart Stobie, divisional managing director of TNT Express UK, told the Slough and Windsor Observer that it was a "tremendous achievement".
"We've always put people first at TNT and this award confirms what we've always known and that our commitment is not just gesturing," he said.
The company was commended for its focus on the training needs of its loading-bay teams, section leaders and drivers, as well as for its use of training to reduce staff turnover and absenteeism and to decrease the number of work-related accidents.
"Our most important asset by far is our people, so it's great to be recognised as being in the business of making better employees as well as making profit," said Jamie Mitchell, general manager at the Slough depot.
