Essentially, the quantity of carbon the company puts into the atmosphere has been calculated. They then sponsor projects which equal out the balance, making a positive difference to communities and the environment. For example, Elite have sponsored a Rural Solar Electrification Project which provides solar lighting to villages in India and Sri Lanka. It’s actually helping to save lives too – the solar heating system replaces health-hazardous kerosene lamps.
